Description
Sex is a wonderful gift of God to the human family. When it is used according to His will, it is creative and brings rich blessing. Used apart from His will, sex is destructive and brings tragic consequences. Illicit sex defiles the persons involved (Lev. 18:20-30), whole nations (Lev. 18:24) and the land itself (Lev. 18:2, 27). Sexual perversions are abominable to God and make a nation sick. The nations in Canaan were devoted to such practices (can you think of any nation today which are devoted to these practices?), and the land "vomited them out" to make room for God's people. God can forgive sexual sins (1 Corinthians 6:9-11), but God warns His people not to practice them. (1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4)

Excellent message especially with what is going on in the courts today concerning Homosexual marriages, I am happy that you took this from the bible and not from your own thoughts...It is incredible how much information the bible has on the matter of sexual impurity...I think these scriptures cover nearly everthing, not just towards homosexuality..but to all of us to keep ourselves from these things. very harsh!! but true.

For people who get mad at all of God's "Rules", think about this: He didn't set these things in place to punish anyone or to ruin your good times. He's not some kind of Galactic killjoy. On the contrary, He told us these things because He knew long ago that sexual promiscuity would lead to suffering -- not just disease, but divorce, illegitamate children, broken families, and the agonies of betrayal. Even the most die-hard liberal advocate of sexual liberties has to admit that none of these things would even exist if everyone practiced 100% the loving monogamy that God advocates in these words. We don't practice them though, and so life here on earth is filled with these problems, and we must deal with them as best we can and turn to Him for help and forgiveness.
