Description

Actually, as far as I know there is no such product as Religi-Safe but if one of you is techy enough to do it, I'd love to use it! I sometimes do research on psychology, philosophy and ethics. Finding objective, properly researched, non-religious stuff can be a challenge!

You are really great! Did you already think of topics like inquisition and modern politics? And more nice relics from the dark middle ages?

Ok, people that are offended by religous material popping up when searching for objective, properly researched, non-religious stuff, have to realize that (some)people that send their children to school are offended by the system not teaching creation as one of the choices of how the Universe was created. I have the solution, why can't they teach the "theory" of creation along with the theory of evolution and the "big bang" theory? I as an objective non religous person find the theory that a big bang just happened and microbes evolved into a complex body that I see operated on and performing amazing feats daily, to be, let me say, far fetched.

You're obviously going way over the top with exaggeration to make a humorous point, and that's perfectly fine. But savzac makes a good point, and that's that evolution is just a theory, not a fact, and needs to be treated as one. Whether you believe in Intelligent Creation or not isn't important -- there are huge unanswered gaps of logic in evolution: Darwin himself predicted that the fossil record would show transitional links and the increase of diversity among species. In fact, the opposite has be shown to be true. The fossil record shows what's called the "Cambrian explosion" ... there were no creatures, ... and suddenly there were simultanouesly thousands of species... and they have been decreasing and vanishing rather than increasing in diversity. The vast percentage of mutations are not even viable, let alone beneficial, in terms of natual selection. Many completely non-religious scientists admit evolution is not workable as an adequate explanation of life on earth -- they just don't get any press because that's what everyone's been taught as if it were ironclad fact for so long now. the point is, we still have a lot to learn, whether you bring faith into it or not.

hey peeps! pls try to restrict the length of your dissertations here. of course if u like, send me a private message ... or make something and post it on the site yourself. and for those who think evolution is dodgy, read richard dawkins' "the selfish gene". as it is evolution is the best theory we have so until we can do better than "god made us" then it's as close to the truth an anything else we have ...

Thanks for posting this. Evolution is more than a theory. It is the template for biological study. Go update yourself on the endosymbiotic theory and see the comparisons between mitochondria and bacteria. Then you'll understand why teaching creation just doesn't make sense...

The Theory of Evolution is a theory ; Creationism is a dogma. Big difference there. The science never says this is the truth, but rather : This is what could possibly be the truth, to the best of our knowledge at a certain moment of history. This means, as a side effect, that nobody will ever get burnt on the stake for not believing in evolution, but also that the theory evolved a lot since Darwin (1809-1882) and will evolve more. On the other hand, all the folkloric stuff about Genesis and the like was invented 2000 years ago and never evolved the least, even though it was created at a time when people didnt have a freaking clue of physics and biology, and were in a great need of finding easy answers to complicated problems. But apparently, simple ideas are still the easiest to understand.
