Description

Apophysis with slight sharpening Thank you to all who have IM'd me about having the comments turned off. I really appreciate hearing from you all. I'm not mad, offended, or anything else. The truth is that I don't really know why I felt the need to do that for a while, I just had to. I think it is because I don't feel very creative these days and that most of the nice comments I have received in the past are not really deserved. Also I have been very busy at work the last few weeks, very stressed out, and don't really have the time or the psychic energy to comment on your works in the manner that you deserve. It is not fair to allow comments on my work, deserved or not, that I will most likely not be returning. I have tried to return all comments in the past but now find that it is impossible to keep up, let alone send out any thank you messages. I felt that if people wished to view my work that that would be satisfaction enough for me, comments were really not needed, but maybe I was wrong. I am not an artist, I just play around with Apophysis mostly, and don't want to get caught up in big discussions about the merits of postworked v nonpostworked images, what belongs in which gallery, and what constitutes a fractal. This is supposed to be fun, a place to share and say Hi, not an ideological battlefield. If you have managed to read through these ramblings, please bear with me, I will try to keep up with you, and feel free to leave, or not leave, a comment. This one is also a CD cover, but I have kept it for my latest work! And Helen, this is not all white! While the universe may be infinite and unbounded, our little portion of it does have boundaries imposed by gravity and time becomes circular. There are no beginnings and no ends. Only continuity.

An Awesome work, Jack. May I say something about your comments under your image here. I think more and more people are saying an all encompassing Thank You. I am because I also don't have the time to thank each person individually. There were a few who did when I began to follow suit. Now I'm seeing many more doing the same. I don't intend to slight anyone. But I felt as you do. And that we all can spend a lot of time replying to the great comments about our submissions and less time doing what we are here for.... which is doing our art work. I hope you don't mind my usuing your feedback for your great image to say my piece. Ruthee

Jack, I just want to say that anyone who creates is an artist! Even those ugly {my opinion} abstract sculptures in front of our library, were created by artists...and your work Jack, is {again my opinion} Superb! :D My son says to tell you that your image reminds him of the 3 minutes he was clinically deceased. ;p He's such a bonehead, he was never clinically deceased...but hey his mom is crazy, what can you expect???!!!!;p Funny, I thouhgt it looked like briars in the gully down at my Grandma's house. Either way, excellent work! :D Love you, XOXOXOXO Lorie

I like it very much. It seems to be like spun glass. Glad you clicked on comments. I hate to look at an image that I like and not be able to say something about it to the artist, even if it is only "beautiful!". A comment, no matter how short, is simply affirmation of the artists ability and talent. I think it is important.

This is very beautiful. And don't worry about reciprocating comments. It's fine with me. :) I'd rather be allowed to comment.

Re leaving comments, I feel overwhelmed continually by the need to leave comments under almost every image- to be fair. Now that I'm also in the Terragen gallery, I'm constantly playing catch-up- not a new thing for me, but still frustrating, becaise I don't want to short-change anyone..but there just aren't enough hours in the day. So I certainly understand your dilemma. This is beautiful, excellent work, Jack, and I love the "eternal" concept.

Jack this is so beautiful! The gold design on this white background is stunning! I think at times it gets a little overwhelming here, and you are right, this is for fun and enjoyment as well as practicing art. Just do what you feel and don't get caught up in the strife. I love your artwork, it always has a unique look about it and I always look forward to seeing it. V :)

It's a nice image. And I agree with Ruthee - be happy when you receive comments, comment on those images you like or you want to be helpful with, but don't start the comment trading.

Jack, this is gorgeous! Even more so with your added, philosophical comments. I also happen to think that you are, indeed, an artist. And a very good one. I love your work. I empathize with your feelings on the comments. I love to comment on people's work and I really do want to thank everyone when they comment on mine, but I, too, get overwhelmed. Please don't feel bad. Enjoy making your art, comment when you can. If you want, you can always say, "thank you" each time you post a new image. Also, sharing your artwork seems like thanks to me. Sorry, everyone, if I've rambled on. :o)

Jack, this is beautiful! I love the way it draws you in! As for the comments, I believe someone said it best when they said don't worry about the thank you's, just keep creating art :) Just seeing each new artwork by artists here is thanks enough for me personally :) That's what this place is all about, sharing our artwork with each other:) hugz&cuddlz~jen :)

Jack you are a very special artist, each image you makes brings with it a little bit of you, it comes from the heart and this is no exception. I love the way this not only draws you in but keeps drawing you in, it looks so good on the white background too. Just keep creating your gorgeous art my friend (((Jack))) VOTE
