Description

Apophysis with slight sharpening Thank you to all who have IM'd me about having the comments turned off. I really appreciate hearing from you all. I'm not mad, offended, or anything else. The truth is that I don't really know why I felt the need to do that for a while, I just had to. I think it is because I don't feel very creative these days and that most of the nice comments I have received in the past are not really deserved. Also I have been very busy at work the last few weeks, very stressed out, and don't really have the time or the psychic energy to comment on your works in the manner that you deserve. It is not fair to allow comments on my work, deserved or not, that I will most likely not be returning. I have tried to return all comments in the past but now find that it is impossible to keep up, let alone send out any thank you messages. I felt that if people wished to view my work that that would be satisfaction enough for me, comments were really not needed, but maybe I was wrong. I am not an artist, I just play around with Apophysis mostly, and don't want to get caught up in big discussions about the merits of postworked v nonpostworked images, what belongs in which gallery, and what constitutes a fractal. This is supposed to be fun, a place to share and say Hi, not an ideological battlefield. If you have managed to read through these ramblings, please bear with me, I will try to keep up with you, and feel free to leave, or not leave, a comment. This one is also a CD cover, but I have kept it for my latest work! And Helen, this is not all white! While the universe may be infinite and unbounded, our little portion of it does have boundaries imposed by gravity and time becomes circular. There are no beginnings and no ends. Only continuity.

My dear Jack, I totally agree with u!!! A 100%, about this place not being a battlefield and about the "snobism" (?) of people who seem to know better than anyone else what's Art and what's not! This debate really does my head in and I too have much more interesting things to do! Also, about the continuity of things! Now, back to ur image which I find wonderfully elegant and beautiful! It's actually my new fav from u I think! It's totally hypnotizing and it gets my vote! ;)

Great imagery, Jack; a golden chrono-wreath (more here than immediately meets the eye, eh?). Indeed, if time is a circle or circles, that probably explains why we spend so much of it running around in that particular geometric pattern. To meet a least minimal Newtonian demands of a 3D universe, however, I expect it would have to be at least spherical, rather than circular, in nature (which would explain why you can't stop running around in circles by just jumping up; for you just end up in a new circle on the sphere). Even that cosmology seems inadequate when more modern physics, math and philosophy are considered. Perhaps time is really fractal strings tottering on the edge of chaos (which might explain why we spend so much of our time yanking each others' chains). Thus have I given you the best reason in the world for turning off your comments section; to avoid lunatic responses like this. hehehehe! Your work is very beautiful and appealing!

Excellent flame Jack!!! Very beautiful encounter the contrasts of colors and the forms with considerable depth. With regard to the comments, this it is a problem that I believe that we have all many times it is not the lack of desires if not that it is the lack of time, I enjoy much of their works, but here I believe that the question is not if one is an artist or not, I believe that him but important it is what comes out of inside and we try to reflect it in our works, although you don't want to recognize it you are since an artist it is committed with a peculiar form of seeing the things, I also believe also that he is a very good person, he would regret not to see but his works.

Jack, you not know it but you are an artist. Like it has been said your art comes from your heart and your enjoyment of playing with the program, and that is what we all enjoy viewing in your images. Yeah, the comment tag gets overwhelming sometimes...try not to let it. Just do it cause it "feels" good not because you feel obligated.(do not ever feel obligated to comment on mine). This image is sooo lovely, it has a vibe of time travel at warp speed. As you can see it has been very well recieved. And thank you for turning the comments back on. It has brought on a flood of communication. That's good, dontcha think?

Jack I understand what you was doing and yes your time is not like it use to be here but just sit down and read what people say about yopur art will hell take the stress out of the day and you can see how many looked and that a blessing too. you do not have to im people and you do not have to comment on they work I know you will come when you have time and look and have a little fun and get your mind off of the work of the day. As for art you have what it takes. There no school here just freinds and fun and sometimes freinds do get into angers with each other, but that life.

This is an outstanding image!! We are all friends here and we are all trying to catch up!! Sometimes I feel guilty cause I can't respond to a lot of comments. There just is not enough time to do it all!! You are a great artist and there are alot of wonderful artists on this site with their own unique style. So since we are all having the same issues I think that we should all keep posting cause I sure enjoy looking at all the artwork and talent on this site!! It is the hi-light of my husbands day to check out the fractal gallery each evening when he comes home from work.

Art is a state of mind moreso than a state of being...through art one becomes a HUMAN being. The ability to look at a bunch of shapes and colors without saying "what's that supposed to be"? and feeling pleasure at the sight of these things. I look at this image and I see the work of a HUMAN... being human is an art of mind - fractal on artist! Cool flame, Jack - sorry 'bout the Zen - the previous comments rubbed off on me, I guess! lol

Beautiful image, and thank you for sharing your thoughts, Jack. I think many of us feel the same way, having trouble finding the time to comment, write thank yous, and live a life away from the pc. Your work is art, and I'm glad you turned on the option to comment. I am sure that everyone will agree and understand that there's sometimes not enough time to comment on everything and write to everyone. Just sharing the art you enjoyed creating with all of us is, I hope, satisfaction for you, and all the other theoretical 'battles' that crop up around here occasionally aren't that important in the scheme of life. Create, satisfy your artistic soul, share with us when you wish to, and above all, BE HAPPY, and don't let all this other stuff get under your skin! :))

Being one who is in the same boat these days, I know where you are coming from. I opened my mailbox today and had somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 e-bots, just from the past couple of days. There are times when it can be quite overwhelming to keep caught up, but everyone understands that real life takes over sometimes and we don't always have the time to do everything we want to do. I'm glad you left your comments open this time, because it's a lovely piece of art....as is all your artwork :-)

Jack we know your very busy, I know it's can be over wheleming trying to thank everyone when you get as many comments as you do, so just put the thank you in the post, we know it comes from your heart, you may not think they are your best but the beauty you create with each work of art, or playing with fractals touches many deeply, don't feel like you have to, do it when you want to,not cause you think you have to for us,ok!! I don't get that it's not all white, it looks like spun gold on a moon lite nite the center looks like bright moon light shinning through,I see so many beautifull color's, I think this is 1 of your best,it's perfection, magical beauty & much more,BRAVO!!! Jack BRAVO!!!!!(V)!!!! :0) @-}-- if you don't want to let ppl, coment then don't,just take care of you ok, we don't want you getting sick from the stress, or worse ok!! relax HUG!!!!!!!!!

I'm so late I missed your non-comment period. Obviously I'm in the same situation. I hate not commenting because I truly like the art I see. 32 hours in a day probably still wouldn't be enough. Anyway, great image and good luck fighting your own personal RR inner struggles!
