Description

And again another view over Loch Linnhe at another place in the afternoon. Do you know how difficult it is to shoot excellent photos in scotland if you are used the german conditions? 1.There is a wonderful motive you want to capture but there is no place to park the car! The traffic behind and in front of you will give you no chance! And when you at last found a place to park, it is raining or there is not enough time to reach somewhere in time! 2. I often saw great stuff but it was to dark for my camera, although the eye did not notice! Or the weather is wonderful in the morning and when you got at last onto a ridge the weather had changed and you only will capture fog or darkness or rain or nothing! LOL 3. Sometimes I saw gorgeous lightplays but when I got the photos processed I was very diappointed: to dark and there was nothing on it like I had seen it! I only own an old Nikon reflex, no digital cam, and cannot see how the shoot will look like. 4. I thought that the pics from upon a monroe will be excellent because you have a beautiful far and high view. But at the end the pics show NO HEIGHT, the mountains were looking so pathetic!!! ;o( And if you try to get a closer shot you won't capture the mood. Its difficult to explain: All what you see you won't get!LOL 5. The best To get wonderful shots in scotland is to live there, getting the opportunity to try it again, or you wait a day long at the same place to catch the right light and weather in the right moment! 6. The most beautiful and spectacularly light and color effects you can experience in the late afternoon! But there will be the risc to get to dark shots and light and colors are off on the photo! 7. The time around 12 a.m. until about 3 p.m. is very difficult also, because the sun shines straight down from above. You can change the position as often as you like, the sun is to bright everywhere! All this experiences I made when the 3 weeks of my holidays came to an end and when I processed the negatives at home. But on some shots I had much luck! That's what you need in scotland! LOL Thanks for your agreement to bore you! LOL But have a nice week!

The weather will always be magnificent in my heart, Rita, as the photo will, since you are capturing it from the top of your Spendour.............V.........kiss.........SG

hehe... yes... i can relate to your problems... the digi certainly helps to get instant results, a ploarizer helps cut down on the glaring white of the bright sun, the drizzle & grey is well drizzly & grey... a tripod helps on those shots with low lighting... but i'm sure you knew all this already... keep shooting rita... that 1 in a 100 is sure to be there... you captured the feel here wonderfully, at least the grey skies had clouds, the hills are beautiful in the varied green, the water has ripples, what more could you ask for! :]

Now I know, why so very few Loch-Ness-monster-images are existing... No parking, bad weather, too much or not enough sun, boring.... Anyway, you did a good job with this pastel-coloured moody picture !

All said and done, I find this a beautiful picture. The blue green on the mountain on the opposite end is very exciting.:O)

A most lovely shot. Like the tree branches in the upper left hand corner. My sympathies on missing the perfect shot... life can be a toe-jam sometimes.

Now you have given some of the reasons as to why Whiskey is so popular here!!!! ...The only other thing is that (as Lost Patrol says) when the weather does break, Scotland knows how to "Deliver the goods" Lovely view of the Ben A'bether range.

Rita, I find that you manage very well to make beautiful photographs with your old camera. I imagine that you were often disappointed of the result, but, you cannot win every time... even with digital!!! I like always much the feeling which is released from your photographs, you have also the right to be instinctive. I like really much your "bad shot"!!! (hope my english is comprehensible) Hugs Christine

Despite all the groaning and moaning, you shoot excellent pictures! So, you needn't worry about the fog, the traffic and the absence of digicam! I love your work! So, let's have some more! However, to make your life easier I do wish you sunny days!
