Description
The Europeans dreamed of getting rich quick. They came, ravaged, then left to go on and do the same elsewhere. The old buildings in this photo shows what is left of the gold rush town of Gas Point, California in Shasta County. I think more Indian People were killed in the name of gold in California than any other state. There is a "gold rush" in South America going on today. Between the gold seekers and the loggers the native people they don't stand a chance. Many have already met the same fate as our ancestors.
These were shot with an earlier digital camera than the one I'm using now. Yes, I used old Professor Franklin again to obtain the resulting photo. It's kind of fun to see what I can come up with using a limited resource.

I love the intensity of the picture, as if Spirits are hovering. The next gold rush, as well as diamond mines may be in the Black Hills. We know that won't be good. Will the wasichu ever understand what is important?
