How unfortunate that you even had to preface this illustration with a declaration like that. I'm very impressed by the work here -- it reminded me instantly of something out of "Young Goodman Brown" or "Solomon Kane." Very strong, and the composition is remarkable -- great balance between darks and whites. Bravo!
