Description
I'll be the first to admit that it's a little early for this type of image but if I don't stop playing with this one my CPU is going to melt down. Windows keeps leaping onto the screen to tell me that I don't have enough virtual memory and is swapping things out as we speak. Then, of course, the swap meet turns ugly and UF crashes. So... I'm posting this as an opportunity to wish all of my friends south of the border a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving... and to start a little holiday cheer for everyone who celebrates Christmas. For those who don't... I hope you'll enjoy the scene anyway... :)
Assembled and framed completely within UF. The three trees are APO flames... the Christmas star and moon were created with rdw.ufx "shapes" and the snow was made using the Torus (Nova) ufm by Damien Jones with no inside or outside ucl's, a bailout of 0.0001 and 1000 iterations. (Just a wee note here... if you are going to use this method for snow and render the image to disk, you'll have to sharpen it a few times in an image editing program to get the flakes to show up.) The golden balls on the center tree were made with Plane Curve Traps II in the tma.ucl.
Post work in PSP7 consisted only of sharpening and sig.
I'm really hoping that Santa will bring me a newer computer so UF doesn't crash so often... and, to that end, I'm being as good as I possibly can... but... well... you know how the song goes... if he truly sees and knows everything, I don't have a chance... LOL!! Hey, guys... thanks so very much for stopping in to view this... and for your awesome comments on my previous stuff! Hugs! Helen

A couple of years ago while reading several thousand essays on Niagara Falls I learned that part of the US is actually north of Canada! I've had this awful cold for 4 days nows and this is just what I needed to lift my spirits, gumdrop trees, snowflakes, and a little bit of sugar all over everything! Not too early, there are plenty of inflatable Santas's and glow in the dark reindeer already gracing the lawns of many around here. A beautiful, quiet, peaceful and magnificent image, it really captures the beauty and wonder of the season.*
