Description


This coal breaker is not closed, in fact, I had to wait for a truck to leave before taking the shot. It is a scene that is disappearing in Pennsylvania. It is difficult to believe that the structure still stands. The engineering is a peace of work, but somehow it does the job. I wonder how it passes safety regulations?

Seen many of these. Not sure they HAVE safey inspections for some of them. This reminds me of the 'bootleg' operations I'd seen years back in Schuylkill County. Good shot of a vanishing aspect of the mining industry.
