CarlBIOI have been always interested in photography, but never pursued it as a career. My background has been in woodworking and carving and most recently making a living in the Information Technology field. An odd turn around I know, but believe it or not they have complimented each other in many ways. I really want to learn all I can to improve my photography skills. Any suggestions are always welcome.

Hot, noisy, smelly I bet.... but a beautiful old structure. Were you able to get inside? Looks like a place I could spend hours in... just me and my camera.

Well done photo for a cloudy day...which are many this winter...I am amazed at how many abandonded industrial buildings there are all across the country.

Nope, never been to Lykens, but that is a typical breaker from a small operation mine. Noisey. Yes, these things crushed coal into smaller chunks, smell? Maybe all the dust in the air. Dangerous? In more ways than one. Still, these were a critical part of the Industrial Revolution and which led, eventually, to a higher standard of living to the point where coal seems quait to many folks. I do hope you have more of these to share.
