Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

It is one of the grim reminders of the 20th century that I no longer see fresh tasty water springing down the rock. It could have glacial rock dust. It could carry efluent from a chalet. The picture has changed very little. It is my perception of availability that has been tinged with disgust. One can take out chlorine pilss and let it have time to settle and add flock to complete the sedimentation then decant the pure stream but that isn't water joyfully bouncing down a rock face. Perhaps that is why a rappel seems in order. Maybe I can do it better myself.

Lovely POV. It's a vry nice view to see water making it's way down a rocky side. Well captured!

Fantastic capture of these flowing waters, Jan-Carel, and I really LOVE these rocks! closes eyes, presses palms against a rock, feeling its vibrations mmmm...warm. like it here. One thing that strikes me is the shadow in the flowing stream. Your reflection? I'm sure it's not but that's what i see. Water...we are made primarily of water. Amazing isn't it when we look at water and see our reflection in it, that we are looking at the essence of who we are. I look upon water with awe...a reminder of God's presence and his promise to provide our needs. This morning I am led to Revelation 7:17 "For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." God's majesty is captured in these streaming waters, as well as God's promise to us!
