Description
Pioneer 10 was launched on 2nd March 1972, and has been leaving our solar system ever since. Its last data telemetry was received on 23rd January 2003, its final farewell to mankind. It has covered over 8 billion miles and will travel forever. In this image I depict Pioneer 10 entering the vicinity of the Pleiades "Seven Sisters" star cluster. This system is 1500 lightyears away, so is a bit further out than 8 billion miles: 1500 X 6,000,000,000,000 miles/ly!Who knows maybe one day it'll make it...assuming it's heading in the right direction!
Pioneer 10 made by me in truespace 6.6, rendered in Vue4 (enlarged frame)as part of a 30 sec animation which took 7 and a half hours to render on broadcast setting and without motion blur. You can view it at: http://www.timatee.btinternet.co.uk/Endless.avi -it's over 2mb, and you may need the latest Divx codec.
Cheers

Very nice indeed. I like the way you arranged your stars. Keep it up!
