Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Oh...this looks like some secret place! I have a feeling there is some secret spot somewhere on that stone...just gotta find it, and when i do...that door will open to a secret cave full of treasures or something wonderful! runs to stone, placing hands on it, feeling the lichens Ok...now where's that magic spot??? It's a gorgeous scene, Jan-Carel! i so much love the lake and mountains...plus the magic of this place! dunno why, but the first thing i saw when i looked at this was an alien. see that shadow at the top of the rock...looks like an eye...just feel "Star-Trekky" in some way...keep expecting to find Mr. Spock & Cpt. Kirk coming around the corner...hehe! for real! Excellent capture!!! vote!

I have a more passive view of shearing. The sun warms the stone so it gives off a nice heat. No need to be chipping on the stone with a rock hammer. This place can be pleasant for years to come.

Where did the sculptor go, Jan-Carel. He left this unfinished. The weather and erosion will finish it for him / her.
