Description

The crystalline rock shows itself here in plates covered with lichens. I wonder whether these plates are tearing off themselves somewhere, but no, I cannot move them. The texture of the rock appears a bit like concrete. But it's all solid rock. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 50 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Oh...this looks like some secret place! I have a feeling there is some secret spot somewhere on that stone...just gotta find it, and when i do...that door will open to a secret cave full of treasures or something wonderful! runs to stone, placing hands on it, feeling the lichens Ok...now where's that magic spot??? It's a gorgeous scene, Jan-Carel! i so much love the lake and mountains...plus the magic of this place! dunno why, but the first thing i saw when i looked at this was an alien. see that shadow at the top of the rock...looks like an eye...just feel "Star-Trekky" in some way...keep expecting to find Mr. Spock & Cpt. Kirk coming around the corner...hehe! for real! Excellent capture!!! vote!

I have a more passive view of shearing. The sun warms the stone so it gives off a nice heat. No need to be chipping on the stone with a rock hammer. This place can be pleasant for years to come.

Where did the sculptor go, Jan-Carel. He left this unfinished. The weather and erosion will finish it for him / her.
