Description

It is amazing to see how nature find its way. Even the smallest crevices are enough for trees to take root. These swiss stone pines are masters of taking root on high places with harsh conditions. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 70 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

there's a waterfall in the mountain!!! yippee! i wish to climb up this incredibly beautiful stone mountain and explore...especially around the falls...i think there might be caves here! sometimes all it takes is just a tiny bit of nurturing for a living being or organism to thrive. a small crevice...a tiny hiding place to take root. Even in the harshest conditions there is life. sigh it IS so amazing! the first thing i noticed in the image was that shadow. look at that tree in the center. go down...little to the right. what makes that shadow? curious. I see a window with bars...and person with one hand raised...like some victory has made. curious. This is such an incredibly beautiful capture...a place of miraculous life! vote!

Great shot, Jan-Carel. Fancifully, I noted the petrified dragon head in the bottom right... cunningly biding his time ubder the scrub grass and mini-pine, till the stones flow again, and he bursts free, to wing his way home.

The reflection of the sun from the face competes in warmth with the cold rock if it is morning and gives a glaze of heat to the warmth if it is midday. Being up and having fresh pine scent takes the breeze for a ride!
