Ultrafractal 3.02
Does anybody remember the scene in the movie, "Conan the Barbarian" where the evil charismatic leader of a powerful snake worship cult named Thulsa Doom (played by James Earl Jones) is presiding over demonic rituals and debauchery in his fortress and, as the sultry music plays, he morphs into a giant snake while his captive, Conan's girlfriend Sonia (Sandahl Bergman) lies unconscious at the foot of his throne? I thought that was WAY cool when that movie came out.
I was playing with 3d Cylinder mapping (aho.uxf) with the QuatJulia+ formula (gnd.ufm) and Sierpinski Trap coloring (mt.ucl) and Arnold Schwarzenegger's old nemesis Thulsa Doom, morphed into the snake, jumped right out of the end of the cylinder I was playing with! :?) 94 layers - mostly shading, masks and all done within a mapped cylinder.

The shadows are perfect and the colors are great on my monitor. I should have known you were a Conan fan! 'Do you want to live forever?'This is totally awesome, dude. I remember the scene well shudders!

You've done it again Rick! AWESOME! I remember that scene well! The special effects for that time period were very impressive! You also captured a bit of an "Alien/Geiger"-like genre here as well!I keep my moniter a bit on the bright side ( my eyes are not as good as they used to be) so the shadowing looks great to me! I LOVE IT!
