I love this picture. Trying so desperately to hold on to its Summer beauty when it is fading on the vine, and nothing will stop the process. Kind of like us "No Spring Chickens", huh? Oh well, age brings character to a face. Glad Mom is home. Let's keep her there for the holidays, now. Just tell her she can't get sick any more. Prayers, honey. Tie a knot in that rope, and SWING LIKE HECK!!

Beautiful picture Susan. So pleased you managed to sort your comp problem out, it must have been very frustrating for you. As for your Mom, that is great news. I wish you a very happy Christmastime together with your Mom, full of contentment and good cheer. Steve :o)

A lovely concept and subject ... and so symbolic of your own struggles against 'inclement weather' - as this fragile bloom survives, so I hope you and your mom will endure and thrive also. Hugs. Mike

Wonderful news about your Mom! :) There seems to be a connection between this Petunia and your Mom! They both still have beauty to bring forth, and therefore continue to struggle to do so! Hugs, and continued prayers!

"It's not the number of breaths you take in life - it's the number of times something takes your breath away". This image does that. Hug and love your mom. PEACE to you, dear soul.

Withered and trying to survive. How appropriate to see such beauty in someone or something that is trying as hard as can be to be the best they can be; like your Mom; like you; like me. Excellent work. Peace and prayers to you and your Mom.
