Description

I've been playing around use Morris' amazing Katie and April textures with the RealSkinShader (using a scene I've posted here before). The first thing to do is if you are using the Katie product, is apply the mat pose with the P4 pose, rather than the P5 pose, so that the RealSkinShader will pick up the textures correctly. If you want bump maps, then manually plug them in now. Then run the script. If you are not using bumpmaps, I suggest disabling the "use noise if no bumpmap" option. Katie and April have a little less red in the texturemaps than other maps, so I set the diffuse incidence red up to 50, and left ambient at 20. I also turned off the displacement (seems too heavy for these maps). Then to compensate for the increased red, I set the main light to R0.8, G0.9, B1. Lots more experimentation needed I think!

I just bought your script and been playing with it. I never ran a script before and it is very easy. I use P5 so you are suggesting to turn off the bump map then?

the upper body, especially backs of the arms, upper back area, lower back area, looks a bit dark...it reminds of the smut with bump maps in P4 when there is too much bump applied. I've been trying the script myself...that's an interesting comment on using p4 instead of p5 shaders...I'll give that a try.

1010 (msg also sent by IM), definitely use bumpmaps if you have got them. If a textureset doesn't come with bumpmaps, I suggest deselecting the RealSkinShader option to use noise instead of bumpmaps. The noise node was incorporated for P4/P5 figures. Katie and April look better without the noise (IMO). Dave-So - some of the P5 mat poses wire in the skin node, so the RealSkinShader cannot find the texturemap or bumpmap. If this is the case (ie. the Katie P5 mat pose), use the P4 mat pose.

Your script has certainly sparked interest in pushing the boundaries of the material room and Firefly. Thank you, and congratulations. Keep up the experimenting!

Your script takes a texture and completely transforms it! Defianyely pushing the boundries of P5 and photorealism! I can't wait to see what you will up with next!
