Description
"The Art of Incantation"
By David J. Reid
aka "Shardz"
Software used: Poser 5, Photoshop CS
Conforming to no particular creative itinerary, I opted for the fantasy spellcasting category this time around since I could use a little magic in my life. As with all my scenes to date, it arrives to Renderosity with convoluted, bewildering, and somewhat opinionated 'Poser Bloopers' and useless factoids which might entertain, annoy, or subdue (depending on which side of the fence you dwell). But I digress...
Which leads me to "The Dress" from Daz3D; an article of clothing that stunned, amazed, and boggled my mind completely to the final point of deletion from this scene. Upon adding it to the scene, it cradled her hips like a Hoola Hoop, and after countless oceans of time passed, I still barely got it to the ground with all her feminine charms covered. Then came pose time where it contorted into something resembling a factory rejected pretzel, thus compelling me to hit the delete button to rid my nerves of further aggravation. The Dress with the Illumination addon looks stunning beyond words, the accessories are also very nice...but I must have been doing something terribly wrong as it won the battle of wits.
Another minor failure in creation was *not* writing down what props, addons, packages and items I used along the way to list a reasonably accurate credits section. All the hard work these talented people spend laboring for our enjoyment surely and rightfully demands recognition to its' fullest capacity. Please forgive me if I left someone out of the credits. Next time I will have Notepad handy to immediately list what I used; I had to backtrack quite a bit to generate and acknowledge the credits for this scene, but I feel it should always be done.
Regarding this scene, I've been wanting to dabble in the fantasy genre for some time now. I have some terrific ideas I would like realized in Poser, but I am not sure exactly how I'll execute the attack. This image was to be entitled "Practice Makes Perfect", but I noticed there were three other scenes with that title. My thoughts were in the fact that we gradually increase our skill as we go along with each scene, and I feel I have learned quite a bit lately. When I see the works of my favorite artists here at Renderosity, it inspires me greatly to push myself harder next time. I honestly appreciate everyone's kind comments from the last scenes, it keeps me perpetuating and to strive for higher goals.
Thank you for your time, efforts, comments, and correspondence.

Wonderful scene you've made here! I really like the outfit you ended up using (though, your story about The Dress was "so true, so true"). The lighting effects you've added are terrific, especially those around the book. Excellent work!!

No, you're actually quiet normal. I have deleted many, many items from models. The creators rave the fact that "THEIR" item has many morphs and...... Yea, what they don't tell you is that it will take days of dialing and you will still be lucky to cover 75%. I LOVE your image, the subject matter is appealing to my nature. I love the colors and effects. Oh, if I break through with any major Poser 5 discoveries, I'll let you know!
venerella

Your scenes and work are amazing. Love your creative mind and I, for one, enjoy reading your progress reports :D I can relate to the dress fiasco, fully, as I've been disappointed a few times myself. Thank you for creating this, gorgeous!

In their work I can see myself to my same one making a charm of my book of the shades. Thank you to represent to all those that as me the Wicca practices and people can see that we are not the topic of old horrible, wrinkled and very very bad. The minima particulars as the pentagram and the athame, the own book of the shades, the candles, the energy or the beautiful natural environment are worked so excellently. The posture of the hands and the arms are perfect. A superb image!!!
