Description

This is a test render of a space transport I created some time ago. The lighting is done with a Random 250 light 'lightball.'

Looking good, be nice to see it in a space scene :)

If you look in my gallery, you will see an older version of this in Earth orbit. I changed the cargo containers. When it is used in animations, I will probably use both versions.

Cool texturing, with nice detail.

Nice object. I don't like the texture, the plates should have the same color. It would be nice to see more details on the rounded parts of the structures, the reactors and "domes"... Add the name or ID number in big letters, maybe logos...

(Sorry, I added a second comment, and found it had deleted the first, so had to do the whole lot again!) Excellent model, really well done. 'Fraid I disagree with ManuelFr57 with regard's the colour of the hull-plates. Who say's they're all made by the same manufacturer, or of the same material. Or haven't had to be replaced due to damage. I do agree, with reservations, that the rounded section's could do with more detail. But, then, do you really want vital piping, electrical conduit's, etc, exposed to the extremely hostile environment we call space: Micrometeorite's, extreme heat and cold, high-energy cosmic rays. (During the Apollo mission's, even protected by the Van Allen belt, enough cosmic rays were getting through to cause the Astronaut's to 'see' flashes of light. Which were caused by the cosmic rays hitting (and destroying) atoms in the Aqueous/Vitreous Humour in the eyes. And, most of the High Energy cosmic rays were being deflected by the magnetic fields- which is what causes the Aurora's. Imagine the effect of billion's of cosmic rays per second hitting metal/plastic/composites.......) So the extra detail is simply an aesthetics thing- but does the space shuttle have lot's of pipes etc on the outside?

kmanktelow is thinking along the same lines I was when I created the containers. The idea was that the containers are interchangeable between transports, like today's intermodal containers(ship, train, truck). They would be made by different manufacturers and have different colors and logos on them. I have a second style of container modeled that has "Union Galactic," "Burlington Northern Santa Fe Spaceway," and Adama Transport as logos. I still need to complete the space station I started where these containers can be removed from their transports and docked directly to the station for loading and unloading. These transports will be used as window dressing in the animations I do for a friend's simulator used by the local school district. I may go and add seam lines to the metallic surfaces, but was after a very smooth look to them.
