Morgan made her way to the roof and then down into the warehouse. She eased herself onto the catwalk and surveyed the scene below. Her sister was standing placidly staring at a man carelessly waving a gun around. He was saying something, but Morgan couldn't make it out. She edged, silently, along the catwalk to position herself above the gunman. Beyond Carrie were two bodies sprawled out on the floor. "Well, she made a good accounting of herself before this guy stopped the party", thought Morgan. She was in position above the gunman and still unseen by him or her sister. She eased over the railing, ready to drop on him from above. Then, the gun came up purposefully. Morgan launched herself at the gunman and screamed "NO!" The report of the gun followed the echoes of her scream through the empty spaces of the warehouse. Morgan saw Carrie's body twist and pitch back. "Too late," she thought, "too late." Carrie's body crashed to the cold cocreate of the warehouse floor.
