This was the first image that I created with Nimesh's spiffy looking helmet, and then later on I created the image, "She Wins Again" using it as well. (it's in my gallery pics here)
But with this image ("Empty Fear") I set about giving the helmet object a real presence and feeling of dread all of its own mainly just by lighting and the camera viewpoint. - I like playing with lighting to explore how it changes the look of something. - The ambient hues came from the sky I used by Avalontree (thanks Kate) but the rest came from the lighting I created & placed to get just the look I wanted especially with regards to highlights and shadows.
I didn't make the helmet MAT glossy because I wanted it matte so it wouldn't distract from the shape of the nice model itself and the lighting I created. - In some ways the helmet reminds me of a robot's head....not a very nice robot to meet up with! :-P
This image is one of my favourites because it always reaches out and grabs me even though nothing is happening. - Hence the title, "Empty Fear".....the helmet is empty but the fear remains. ;-)
