Description
The room and all the objects were made at a real scale. I worked on this scene from december 2003 until late june 2004. This image took 8 days, 8 hours, 49 minutes and 59 seconds to render.
I used radiosity, caustics (for the globe on the desk) and SSS (for the courtains).
Special thanks to Shademaster and Cinemike for suggestions and critiques during the creative process.
Be sure to also check out the second render.
I recommend you to view the "Making of Digital Morning" page which shows all the images I saved during the creative process.

awesome work and detail! but 17 days to render?!!!that's a huge chance to take-I used to do 24 hour renders, and had my machine crash during! there has got to quicker way for you-maybe you should post your radiosity settings in the forum, and someone could find a quicker way for you.excellent work though.

I like the cammera position better in this shot, it makes all those extra hours with caustics worth it.

fantastic modeling and dedication. You should have far more comments on this piece. lots of details and outstanding realism. You should invest in a multiproccesor system to match your work and dedication to detail. one of the most realistic i've seen.

Thank you all for the great comments and support. I'm not a very good radiosity optimiser... for the next image... my challenge is: reduce render times! :)
