Description
From a 3D Model of the Mercedes SLK, I tried to make the render the most photo-realistic I could.
I only use the sun light. It's my first photo-realist render on Vue !
I konw it could be better but I'm proud of the result :D
Any commment and rates are very welcome !
Created with Vue4, no postwork.

Mercedes - yes. Photorealistic - no. I don't know Vue but this model isn't detailed enough for such close up renders. I guess you should experiment with other types of lighting and shaders to make it more realistic

Yes the problem is the model is not detailled enough but I tried to make it so. Vue4 does not have GI, HDRI, Global Radiosity, ... it's difficult to have render as realistic as yours :)

You should try Vue 5 and beter 3D model. Definietly paint material should be remade - it is not easy to get correct pain material - two layers of material needet at least.

well you can experiment to get GI like lighting. did you model that? You should do your own modeling. its a goos start but a bad angle for this model. cool post i'll be watching out for you!

I thought it was the best angle to view this Free 3D model :D. I've never modelised so it's hard to do by myself. I hope I'll have Vue5 soon :) I will post others renders containing a dozen of spot lights !

The POV is a good one, but as you know you are limited by the detail in the model itself. Check around the web, there are literally hundreds of free 3-D vehicles available, some extremely well detailed. Second, in Vue 4 you can mimic the better rendering styles by setting the softness on your lightsource (sun included). Set the sun at 30 and aim it straight down, then add just a couple (or a few - but not a dozen) spots with a softness of 10 on one side and that will give you a much better lighting for this (but will take extra rendering time - worth it). Also, the main thing to think about for metal "things" is what is being reflected. There is nothing detailed in your reflections and that leaves them a bit flat. I hope some piece of this is helpful to you. It's a great start and I encourage you to keep going with it :-).

That's true, there no metal reflection ! Thank you for your comments Boun
