Description

Awaiting The Goddess Samantha ----------------------------- (Awaiting The Goddess Samantha -- version 2) Created: October 2003 Created with: * Poser v4.03 * Vue d'Esprit v4.1 (also rendered in) * Photoshop v5.5 (a little postwork - see notes) FREEBIE 3D MODELS CREDITS: Special Note: As far as I know Ed Giddings no longer has any of the Stargate models available to download nor will he supply any to you if you contact him via email. - Just letting you know what the situation was/is okay? - I downloaded some of the early versions of his models many years ago so that's how I got them. - And no, I can't pass on his models either. Ed Giddings website: http://WWW.QuantumSS.Freeserve.co.uk * Stargate (and base/foundations & steps) 3D model (v6) by Ed Giddings * DHD (Dial Home Device) by Ed Giddings --------- POSER CREDITS: * female figure = Vicky 2 by DAZ productions http://www.daz3d.com/ * Veronica (character & texture) "Veronica" by Jay (jsj) (c) NewVisions Design - February 20, 2003 Was generously made available as a free download for a *limited* time only to all POSER newsgroup participants ( alt.binaries.3d.poser ) in June 2003. - was free - * Leia Slave Costume for Vicky 2 by PhilC http://www.philc.net/ - free - * "Long Hair" by Kozaburo for Vicky 1-3, etc. Digital Babes website http://digitalbabes2.com/ - free - --------- Vue d'Esprit CREDITS: * 5 clumps of long grass by Jannara (via the Vue Yahoo group) - free - - Vue d'Esprit - Assorted MAT's below used in image(s), all created by ZOT: * ground terrain MAT's * Stargate foundations MAT * Stargate & DHD MAT's * Stargate wormhole MAT * others created from stock MAT's supplied with Vue d'Esprit. --------- One thing I wanted my Stargate scene to be is personal, and to be as if it existed. - Many Stargate's aren't situated in thriving areas, they're in out of the way places and quite often in ruins, overgrown or forgotten regions. - They've existed for thousands of years on these planets and are situated on all sorts of bases/foundations. - Whilst the bases may be different, the Stargate's themselves are the same despite their grimy coverings due to the passing of ages. My "Awaiting The Goddess Samantha" scene in VUE started out by experimenting with MAT creation and giving the Stargate base (foundation) a reasonably weathered and worn appearance. If you were to look at the actual 3D model of the base it's pure and pristine with no cracks or chips or chunks missing from it's clean straight-lined surfaces. The look of the base as you see it in my image is entirely due to the MAT I made for it. - I'm about 75% happy with the MAT I came up with for the base. Ed Giddings (the mesh's creator) supplied some image textures for parts of the Stargate but I wanted a different 'look' to the Stargate. After looking at screen caps for "Stargate SG-1" episodes where the Stargate is seen on other planets out in the open outdoors, I decided to texture up the Stargate with VUE MAT's. - My MAT's may not make the Stargate accurate but it looks nice to my eyes. :-) The 'wormhole' effect in the middle of the Stargate was totally created by me in VUE. --------- PHOTOSHOP NOTES: I only did 3 things to the Vue d'Esprit render in Photoshop: Brighten up the image a litle using the levels controls, altered the image colours slightly using Photoshops "curves" functions, added my credits. --------- The only difference between version 1 & 2 of my "Awaiting The Goddess Samantha" images are that one has an active Stargate wormhole (version 2) and the other doesn't. I actually like both images almost equally, although I personally lean towards the wormhole-less version because it has more ambiguity and has a somewhat forlorn quality to it with the female figure seemingly praying or pleading for Samantha to return. ----- Aray Kree! Tal mal'tiak mal we'ia... Swaic ? Z.
