Description
"John Philip Sousa came back to earth one day.
He looked around at what he found here all the contradictions that abound here.
Good surviving, evil thriving, everything in disarray..."
- Stars And Stripes Forever
Oh yes... All those contradictions. First of them: I am not american. Thus I am not really an american patriot. But I am from Berlin. I have lived beside american flags for about half my life and we had lots of GI

Lovely work!

Void, I too lived in Berlin, my father was one of the GI's. I learned a great love for Berlin and Germany and I KNOW, my father would have died defended Germany. Thank you for my father!
LodeRunner68k
Excellent picture! And I remembered democracy: Dont forget to vote! g
Makariel
Very nice, but shouldn't there be some more shadow beneath the ammo? Looks like it's floating ;-)
VOID
I noticed that, but it really isnt. Strange effect.

Your modeling skills and your attention to detail really set you apart as one of the premiere "virtual gunsmiths" online. While I have no great love for conflict or weapons, I do confess to a strange fascination and addiction for these kind of images. You've given me my "fix" for the week. Happy Holidays to you, my friend. :o)
VOID
Happy holidays to you, too! And rest assured: In reality Im a very peacefull person. ^_^

What is this, a Pro-American post. Strange, don't see many of these. I don't usually comment weapon renders but what the heck. Nice work Void.

So thanks for the comment that much more! :)

Kicks ass! Stars and stripes forever! g
shakes
incredible modelling and textures there
Just_cause
Fu**ing Army lunatic. This hasn't much to do with Weapons themselve! This is just a patriot act. Looks like you love War. The picture is great made, but the topic is not what i expect on renderosity!!!
big_dave
The foot on the front stand cuts into the cloth, and the other side seems to be missing. The texture is tearing on the helmet rim, and there is a pinch point at the top of the helmet. The flag texture is a bit blured, and the grip needs improving, there seems to be triangles on the hypernurbs mesh, or it could be a boleen problem. The bullets and helmet do seem to be floating.
kromekat
..other than that, big_dave loves it! ;) - nicely done!, although some 'might' take offence to the nationalism inherent in the image, even if not intended. The gun itself is very impressive! :)

Excellent work! Awesome!

Just_Cause got some exorbitant heavy strike on the head I think. The picture is really nice. The Bullet-belt seems to be a bit clinical, but I trust your promise it's correct. Thanks for 'my' SPW ;p
bluliner35
Nice pathos. I'll take you at your word, honoring the GI's. My uncle was one of them during the cold war, back in the sixties. I regret the fixation with the militant aspects of America, but i s'pose it's understandable. Still, how 'bout a nod to Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Thomas Jefferson, the Wright Brothers, Neil Armstrong, Mark Twain, Buckminster Fuller, Rachael Carson, Alexander Bell, Samuel Morse, Marconi, Steven P. Jobs and Stephen G. Wozniak, thousands of others. 200 years is a brief history, but a glorious one. It's a little distressing to think that heritage can be reduced to a weapon or a "support our troops" sticker.

We're all living in America America is wonderful!
Hilt
I'd switch the background to something else than to another flag. Consider remapping the texture on the helmet and check the lighting for the ammo and helmet. Otherwise a neat image -not sure why you placed a weapon on the flag though, is that the democracy ;) .hilt
dougocd
People sure are touchy about weapons. They need to get over it. Cool pic, especially the flag.
VOID
Thanks doug. And bluliner35 can rest assured that I would not reduce America to a weapon or a "support our troops" sticker. First because I am not american and they aint my troops and second because I honor much different values about america. I partly agree with John Philip Sousa, although that is something to think about. ;)
bearhead3
I think your picture rocks. Really. :)
_eko_
well done nice work. i like it sitting on the flag well done
kagetsuki
Why does some people never read what's written? g Great Job, my dear!
Turin_Returns
The severiceman should be commending for keeping his weapon so clean and not staining the flag, as happens all too often.
Ataulfus
America does make some great weapons. I can't believe so many people bitched about the American flag. It's obviously just for decoration to emphasize the American gun, just like how I put the German Iron Cross on my Heckler und Koch MP5 (and someone bitched about that, thinking it was racist; idiots...) Anyway, I think this weapon is super.
