Description

Yesterday (while playing a starwars mod for Homeworld 2) I noticed the empires lack of assault capable carrier ships and decided to make one. At least for my starwars roleplaying campaign. Sure, the empire has its star destroyers, but they are gargantuan ships and extremely expensive. Sure, the empire has cruisers like the Enforcer class frigates, but they don

Great modelling. It shows how much work goes into all the details.

Great work ! Did you ever look at the modified star destroyers from the old Tie-Figter game ? Remindes me very much of the good old times. Keep it going !

Thanks Dann! Thanks Holli. Never played TIE Fighter and never seen them, but Star Destroyers are siege and brute force attack weapons. Not suitable for swift operations. I designed the Adjustment with people like Thrawn in mind. ^_^

Wow, I can't await the complete modell. But to tell the truth, I really don't know, what could make the ship more effective. You gave some parameters for the ship, and it seems to fullfill them quite well.

Only thing you might consider; make sure that the right angles edges (vertices) are set to 'hard' (well, that's the Wings command, should be similar in whatever you're using). When exporting into a renderer (if you need to, that is), you can get what I call 'the marshmellow effect'..in varying degrees..you're off to a good start..keep it up.

Really nice design, i like it! Maybe you could bring in some stabilisators for atmospheric flight, I think that could look nice and would also make sense, because a 2 or 3 of these carriers surely would be effective when deploying scimitars into a planetary battle. Great work for such a short time!

Wonderful model and I can see an excellent ship under way. thanks for showing the steps as it shows the base well.

Hm... Athmospheric stabilisators like those on the Victory class would result in problems with the hangars, since they are exactly where the Victory has the stabilisators. On the other hand, I dont think that a ship as small as the Adjustment class carrier-frigate would need them. Acclamators can land without them as well.

Nothing new for me actually, but as I said in our discussion: Spread out the Heavy Turbolaser batteries. In this Position the got a really fucked up front fire arc. My Suggestion: Two on the top level of the living area before the bridge, one more on the middle level. And Four on the actual Level of the living Areas, with two of 'em in the front area. That'll result in a total of 7 heavy Turbolaser Batteries, one more, but with better fire arcs. 5 in the front arc, three to every side arc, and the one on the middle level to front and both side arcs. Think about it, and tell me your Opinion. (If it's not clear yet, you know how to contact me)

Schokohase: I think I understand, but you cant place turbolasers just everywhere were you want them. The classical configuration of star destroyers is like that because it holds the main batteries close to the reactor, thus close to the power source. The three main batteries of the Adjustment class are supposed to be medium turbolaser turrets, with two quad-laser cannon turrets on the foreship and multiple light turbolaser emplacements in the trenches. I do not see so much need to split the main batteries over the hull, since fire arc is not such an important consideration for them. They are mostly deployed against single capital targets and the carrier can maneuver into fire position with relative ease. However, I am thinking about dislocating some of the lesser batteries from the trenches into turrets on the hull. That would at least spread some of the lighter firepower more equally over the ship.

You're such nerds (this, coming from a Star Wars member who coins himself InsidiouSith) ;) Just kidding, folks... this is going to look fantastic when you are finished. I'm not gonna say what to add/subtract from this. It appears you are on the right path. But, with colour/texture, I would suggest a pewter or onyx hue mirror. The reflection of the "space" will give it a cloak-like appearance. The only thing that will give it a ship appearance would be the lights on the hull, but it'll look like a galaxy cluster. Does this make any sense?
