Description

Kinda sad about this one. I put it together and rendered it overnight a couple of days ago. Then I wanted to put two more people in just so it wouldn't be so lonely there. But Vue 5 had a major crash and botched both the vue and the bak files in attempted recovery. They're gone and even though I tried to redo it all yesterday, it's just not the same. Oh well. At least I rendered it before it was finished. Vue 5. A teeny bit of blurring was added around the edges of the smoke. All the rest is untouched. Credits: Free Stuff: Dock by Sams3D, Lemog Textures, ES Atmosphere, Dixie car by Helmut (not sure if it's the right period but I like it there). Thank you ALL for your FreeStuff!! DAZ: Vicky Low Res and map, her clothing, hair, child, creepy trees and bird DNA: Child's clothing (Christmas Freebee this year, thank you!), Transpond Snowy Cottages, Snowy pines, 3D Commune: FK braided hair, Monsoon Earthenware Textures

Very, very beautiful, Linda! The crash - one question: Did you reduce the reflection of the RDNA snow material? It is too much for Vue to work with it and than you have a reflective material on your lake - btw. I had the same problems. Merry X-mas to you and your family! Hugs Doro

So sad that some things are lost forever, but so very glad you redid the image for it really is a treasure. Love the contrast of the skaters against the whiteness - and such a lovely mood. Looks like fun. Gorgeous holiday image. V. CC

WOW! THIS is truly one of the BEST - all time BEST Winter scenes I have ever seen! No joke - this is simply awesome work. This would make a fantastic Christmas Card. I would be heartbroken too if I had created something this wonderful and then experienced a crash =( However, I know you, and know you will continue to create even more exquisite scenes Linda. Bravo on this! and my Vote

I hate when stuff like that happens.....I had it happen just after I bought Vue 4, and I lost the file during a crash for a render I did. I didn't bother redoing it at the time but that may prove to be a future project, because the image results were nice. Did I see this posted on E-on softwares website for image of the day?? I could have swore I've seen this before. The houses and smoke look very nice....very homely. The trees and shrubbery are my favorites....snow covered...especially the very thick tree in the upper right corner. The characters look very lifelike. A beautiful winter scene!!

Very nice as is, though. A suggestion: I have those same house models and they have a pretty high memory count. You might render them separately on a blank (solid) background and create an alpha plane file. Very easy to do in Vue. Then just place the alpha planes where the present models are. That might reduce your file size enough to add some more people. However, I think it is fine as it presently is.
