Oh, Susan..Thank you for the picture show that ran through my mind while reading this beautiful verse. The vintage card is perfect. Big Fat Hugz! We have the same weather as you. The deer in the yard today walked right on top of the snow because it was crusted over with ice. Ice below it, about 2 inches, and ice above it, about an inch. A snow sandwich!! LOL! Merry Christmas hon.

susan, i've been on this page now for oh...'bout 30 minutes...reading, re-reading, imagining, getting lost in in Christmas of long ago...but for than a moment! LOL. Susan...the poem makes me weepy, remembering Nana, my sweet grandmother. i don't remember Christmases with her and Papa...only Thanksgivings. she was my kentucky grandmother. "listen to Christmas bells echo in the valley below"...you nearly broke my heart sissy! Nana & Papa lived in a valley...in Liberty, Ky...one of the most beautiful places in my memory. in summer...smells of lilac and honeysuckle. in winter...snow covered hills and trees sigh. standing in front of the wood stove. her sweet voice as she sung gospels...we never got to see them at Christmas. only Thanksgiving. i only remember one time they came to our house. she stayed in my bedroom. she had a blood clot go to her lung. and she died. when i was 12 years old. weeping. I didn't get to tell her goodbye. sobbing...sorry sis...i didn't get to tell her how much i loved her. anyway, your poem was just so beautiful girl. made me remember so many happy things. sadness too. but mostly....it makes me remember love. thanks for that. I love you sweet sis! hugest hugz Merry Christmas!!!! hey girl...you got any leftovers??? i'm dying for a slice of pumpkin pie...with whipped cream on top!!!!! i didn't get any this year!!!! love you!!!!!! vote!
