Description

Earth- a very populated place, with millions of us bumping into each other in our daily lives; we take vacations to "get away" from the crowd. And yet, on this seemingly busy planet, there are vast areas still unknown to all but a few, where neighbors are seperated by hundreds of miles, not city blocks. Witness our intrepid traveler; he's already journeyed a lot further than he originally planned- what started as an adventure has turned into a struggle to return to anything familiar. He wanted to get away from things- and succeeded. He's lost, and all the savvy and knowledge of an urban landscape won't help much here- he's learning to rely on some inner strengths to deal with the real world, as it's existed for millenia. The relentless will to survive, against the relentless power of nature. Only one will win. Terrain from World Machine, erroded with Terraformer II. Poser 4 for the figure. Clothes painted in Photo Shop. Some contrast and sharpening on the terrain. Original surface textures. Have a safe New Years celebration, and leave a comment if you want.

you know, adding a human to a Terragen render adds SO much. . .its amazing, really. . .there are so many good Terragen renders, but after a while, they all sort of look the same. Kudos to you for a simple, but very effective, elaboration. . .

Excellent terrain, lighting and PoV. The Postwork makes me unsure about the terrain's scale, though. Nice sky.

Outstanding. I love the story and the post! I want the book. This reminds me of the story of the two young men who were lost in a Mexican wilderness area. They were dying of thirst and extremities, and one boy begged the other to shoot him and he did. He was tried for murder. I really don't know if he was convicted or not. This is an awesome render. When you put someone in a Terregan it changes EVERYTHING! Love it.

The way I read the terrain scale, the guy's either a giant or too big. Nice idea, though.

Cool idea and composition...I must say the terrain looks more real than the man. If you would have placed a nude poser figure there you would have over 50 comments...LOL...still, I like...excellent work!!
