Description

It is just past the turn of the 20th century in the Mediterranean region- a coastal area once part of the Roman empire. Archeology is quickly seeking out and uncovering vast areas of the distant past. What has been legend and story is becoming scientific fact as mythical cities and towns are unearthed. A young local woman has been helping with newly discovered scrolls and parchments at a dig near her home. As she translates them, she finds herself drawn to the people and places documented there- she feels a kinship because of the stories told to her in childhood. As the scientists feverishly work to locate hard evidence, she struggles to understand the real reasons for the artifacts and statues existance and meaning for the long dead residents. The analytical mind verses the emotional heart. On a moonlit night, she takes her fathers phonograph and goes to the site; as the metallic sounding classical works echo around the hills, she dances , and feels the presence of the spirits of ancient history. The inspiration came from a song by the Blue Oyster Cult: "It doesn't matter if we turn to dust turn and turn and turn we must I guess I'll see ya dancin' in the ruins tonight" Vue 4, Poser 4, Photo Shop All modeled by me except the Pavilion by varian Sexy Dress and Bun hair, and Edison phonograph from Rendo freestuff. I don't know why, but this affected me greatly. Maybe it was the words with the image. I know that it touched somewhere deep inside. I can almost feel what it is she is feeling. Gosh I love this on so many levels. So beautiful and serene. I could look for days.
