Description

This one started out with a modelling experiment. I wanted to make a mushroom cluster in XFrog, and I had very little idea how to make it. It turned out okay IMHO, after a little trial-and-error (often you have to do that in XFrog. Well, the mushrooms needed a place to grow, so I built yet another forest, this time a humid one with fog and lots of moss :) Vue, Treepro for the conifers, XFrog mushrooms. Postwork in Photoshop CS: Colour/levels correction and DOF, using the brilliant "lens blur" filter with the greyscale Vue depth (z-) channel as source. 22 mio. polys (layered "vegetation-terrain" work), rendertime approx. 30 min in final - maybe I should make a new render with higher settings, but in this case I don't think it will do much difference. Hope you like this, comments etc. very much appreciated. I hope to be more productive at the start of the new year than I finished the last :) Best wishes for you all for 2005 - Lars

Well done Lars! the beauty about art is that we can create a new species at will. You now have to give your mushrooms a name:-)
