Description

2D Forum January Theme: Typography I didn't know what the hell I was going to do for this theme - I end up using typographic elements here and there reasonably often in my work but when actually setting out to do a typographic piece it can seem less than easy! I went back through my gallery, looking for inspiration, and found this piece dating back two whole years. Okay, lots of blending in Painter and overlaying in Photoshop. Then the text. Hmmm...... poetry doesn't really come easily to me at all, but I didn't want to nick someone else's poem, so I just had a go. I still think I could have made the typographic layout a lot more interesting and the whole thing has a "not quite there" feel to me - but buggered if I know what to do with it, so I just tweaked it until I was content... better next time I hope! Fonts used were Ashby Black and Porcelain. This is at 1024x768 size if anyone wants it as wallpaper ;-) Thank you for your viewing and comments and critique are much appreciated :-)

I find this extremely well found and done, a truth behind a truth. The double use of fonts gives it such a depth. The image is a perfect choise, and you know my love for that color!

I really like your overall concept & composition here Jim, love the abstracted & layered impression of depth lthat lies beyond structure. Great piece for the theme ; )

Great composition: giving space to the poem. and yet taking it with the flow to the picture. Beautiful combination of curves and straight lines - and the color I love :-)

Excellent work Jim, the color sets a suitable mood for the poem! And the poem itself is very well written as well! Be cool to see more of this from you! Cheers, Jesse

What I love the most here are the color theme and the presentation! It's warm and very stylish! As for the poem, I'm not a fan of poetry so....certainly not a good judge on that! ;)

I've read this about six or seven times now, and each time the verse finds deeper meaning, which is something all great art should have. I love the way you've varied the colour of the text as it makes it almost flicker as its read. Brilliant work in every way my friend hugs Thank you so much for creating and sharing. :)
