Description

This is another 20 minute shot through a 205mm lens at f/3.8 with the new Kodak HD 400 film. It's got a poor response in the red, but appears to be very strong in the blue. Other than the obvious nebula (M42) in the middle of the shot, there are an additional two nebula worth pointing out. Directly above M42 is NGC1977, known as "The Running Man Nebula". And just above and to the left of the left-most(eastern-most) star in the belt (known as Alnitak) is NGC2024, also known as the Flame Nebula.

The exact configuration as the Gizeh Pyramids, fascinating to see it, with canis minor and canis major it form a great mythological pattern and an interesting scientific matter as well as it lies on the same arm of the galaxy as our solar system.

I was wondering if that was the flame nebula. I want to see a trace of the horsehead down there. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part :)
