Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

A crtique last night noticed that in one of my images the light seemed to be coming from the opposite direction of the sun's position. My aftercare is that that property is called reflection and it is what makes opaque pigment have color. Here we see only the rocks are black. The shadows are some diffuse reflection collectively sent to the backs of the soldiers. There is some diffraction, yes, but the snow has a bright albedo in spite of it's coldness. A really showoff picture, I'd say. Who has ever seen this before?!!

This one has a "flow" to it. It's like magic - it motionlessly dances to Nature's silent Music.

where are we? still on Earth? there is something very surreal about this image. dunno what. i love it; it's beautiful, but something here seems out-of-this world. what are those soldiers? they r trees? i pretend i'm movie director, "ACTION"...LET THE SNOWBALL FIGHT CONTINUE...!!!!! I'm so glad Ilona started this!! high 5's girl!! swoops down from director's chair, makes snowball, and aims...splat gotcha, Jan-Carel! right in the stomach. running away....uh oh! hey Ilona, you and me are gonna be toast soon! Let's enlist help of those soldiers down there!!! It's a beautiful capture and i should enjoy listening to the silence here if i weren't occupied already in snowball fight*. Gorgeous work! I'd just like to know more about your position and what those soldies are! vote!

Hah! Yes, they'd be the reserves, but they don't seem to eager to fight. Very otherworldly photo, thanks for bringing me sights I don't have the opportunity to go and see for myself!
