Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

This capture reminds me the visit is repeatable. The mountains will still be there with the clouds and the ice. Choosing when to come to see the same thing then becomes a challenge. You've made great height affordable.

did you say snowball fight???? You mean this is a rematch???? another??? I've been working on a top secret snowball firing machine. I think it's time to test it here....splat...whoa..."Timber......." I can't believe it just knocked down a tree! Back to the drawing board...that was a bit too dangerous!! Beautiful photo, Jan-Carel! I love the pastels in the sky, as well as those drifting clouds. and the blue tones in the terrain and trees are so beautiful! I don't wanna leave Grand Ballon. it's been a magnificent series!!! Sorry I have started at the end of this series, Jan Carel. I will have to back track. This one gave me a frisson, but the kind when you see s glimpse of God's handiwork - not the cold weather seeping through the garments.. Regards, John.

Wonderful winter landscape!

It does look like a great place for a snowball fight, bit I'm kinda worried about falling of a cliff. This has to be the best view from the top of the world! Love the distant clouds and subtle colours =)
