Description
Last view from the Grand Ballon on the Alps. Perfect place for a snowball-fight! :) And then... it's time to leave this frozen place that reminded many of you to heavens!

A "ballon" is also a glass for wine drinking. So I can only like a "grand ballon" ! Anyway, it was a beautifull serie.

This capture reminds me the visit is repeatable. The mountains will still be there with the clouds and the ice. Choosing when to come to see the same thing then becomes a challenge. You've made great height affordable.

did you say snowball fight???? You mean this is a rematch???? another??? I've been working on a top secret snowball firing machine. I think it's time to test it here....splat...whoa..."Timber......." I can't believe it just knocked down a tree! Back to the drawing board...that was a bit too dangerous!! Beautiful photo, Jan-Carel! I love the pastels in the sky, as well as those drifting clouds. and the blue tones in the terrain and trees are so beautiful! I don't wanna leave Grand Ballon. it's been a magnificent series!!! But i know you have another wonderful series up your sleeve. So onward and upward! splat...

It does look like a great place for a snowball fight, bit I'm kinda worried about falling of a cliff. This has to be the best view from the top of the world! Love the distant clouds and subtle colours =)
