Description

This ancient tree is in a wood about half a mile from my home. The wood is mentioned in the Domesday Book which was compiled in 1086 and has probably existed a good deal longer, it has provided timber and fuel for the villagers for at least 1000 years. One can only guess at the age of this venerable inhabitant.

Amazing tree, wouldn't it be great to hear the stories of what it has seen in all of it's centuries. Beautiful shot, great contrast and focus, really excellent work!

Great use of b/w/.I too would love to hear the stories this old tree has to tell. But untill trees talk, this photo speaks for the old man, and it speaks very well!!!
