Description

This photo was taken last year on my honeymoon as I was traveling up the Belize river to visit the ruins of Lamanai. (You can view the ruins here: Lamanai Mayan Ruins) These two natives were fishing along the river in a traditional shallow draft canoe carved from the trunk of a local tree. As we passed, they waved and proudly held up a fish about the size of a McDonalds hamburger. ;o) They may be wearing modern clothing, but they are living as their people have for thousands of years. The original photo needed a little something extra, so I played around with it in Photoshop until I achieved the finished product you see here. This is a really great shot. it makes me think of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer though.Your tones make it look nostalgic in a sense. Good bit of info too. Always appreciated.
