Description

This was done way back in time, actually part of my 'senior' portfolio, done in 72. As with most images we did back then it was a copy of a picture that we were presented with. Not allowed to make 'changes' had to be exact. I couldn't tell you who the original artist was, may have been either DaVinci or Micheangelo, but it surely was one of the renaissance artists. Much of the work I did back then was either from masters or Holy Cards ... LOL went to Catholic High School. I did learn a lot but hated like heck not being able to 'grow' by drawing from my head and not from things... The original was charcoal on paper. I took some liberty with it but now scanning into PSP, doing a whole lot of smudging to rid it of the yellowing stains, and smudges from storage. Enjoy...

The Classical masters had it. Simple elegance, sure strokes and a defined image. I just love the simplicity of the pic. Also reminds me a greatdeal of Turtonic art. Square cut direct.

I was taught the same way cheer :) And they say all the Grand Masters were taught that way too ! But I know the feeling :):) I was too a bit annoyed not being able to make my "own" stuff :):) .... But I also know how hard a job it was ... it is not so easy to make something exactly like the old masters did ... I can see you did great thuogh :)::) ... Very elegant and excellent artwork ::::::)
