Description

Today we started firearms training. I'm going to be brief because I have to get those Principles memorized. We started off in the classroom learning to disassemble, clean and reassemble our Glock 22s. We went over some basic sight alighnment, firing stance, and hand positions. Then we went to the firing range and went through a few drills without ammo. Then they issued ammo and we practiced firing. We went to lunch. I went to Grand Buffet, a Chinese place with sushi. When we came back we went through a few more livefire drills then practiced for our qualifications. I scored the highest. Yay! I can do something right. Then we all went back to the class and cleaned our weapons. I'm sorry for the lack of elloquence tonight, but I really have to study. We will be working on firearms all this week, so I'll try to type something more exciting later. Thanks for all the support, I love the comments. I studied the Principles by typing them over and over.... I tried to not look at the principles unless I was completely stumped. That's better for me than just reciting them .... this is what it ended up looking like: 1. The reason for which police exist it to prevent crime and disorder. 2. I can appreciate your formal guidlines in training and the logistics within the law to provide legal representation for the people, however...I have a rather non-official simplified list that might be more suitable. 1.) Forget public approval as we all want the same thing; low crime, low taxes, and peace. If you have to chase a culprit for 4 blocks and hit him in the head with a blunt object...that's fine by me. If the culprit refuses to co-operate, he is either guilty or on drugs...don't need my holy approval for that. 2.) If given culprit reaches for his/her pockets after being told 10 times to put their hands over their heads...shoot between the eyes. I promise I won't impeach the mayor. 3.) Serve and protect! This is all you really need to know. The question is; serve who and protect what? The general idea is to protect the law abiding public and serve the perpetrators with a sentence. Just please forward this to all your lawyers in the general area as they don't understand this yet...it's a question of money, not scruples. 4.) Be honest to yourself and trust your instincts. If you pull someone over and they smile too much or are too nice, 90% of the time they are guilty of something...probably cocaine dealers that have excellent sociial skills. Feel free to open fire at the first kilo that falls out of the glovebox. 5.) Always treat obvious law abiding citizens as such. Be friendly, have a chat with people...this is public consent in a nutshell. If your local unit shoots a house into swiss cheese for proven cause...I'm OK with that. I have seen meth houses blow city blocks into dust here because nobody dared to take a logical first step. Sometimes innocent people die due to ignorance and it's a shame. 6.) Socialize a little. Nobody likes Robocop touring the block, they want input and advise. The best way for public approval is to favor the citizens....you'll get much more info this way and make way more friends. 7.) Rent all the Dirty Harry films you can get and pick the good and bad parts out of them and think...why does Harry's town have such a low crime rate? Hrmmmm LOL Hope this helps, but probably me more than you. Good luck, and I'll follow up on your writings. Excellent work, and I believe you will be great in this! V

Shardz has some good points but the law has to follow the law. They cant just go shooting up anyone just because they smile too much. And just to weigh both sides let me tell you a little story about hunches and instincts. Over a year ago I was having issues with some neighbors that had rented the house nextdoor. It was a single mother of 4 girls with her boyfriend who had 2 children of his own. This woman (I use the term loosely) was the most disgusting, rude, evil piece of trash I ever had the displeasure of meeting. She would have friends over and they would stay up til 4 in the morning drinking, singing and screaming on the front porch. I called the police many nights but it did no good. After the officers left they would go right back to the same thing. She even got her children in on the act and they would yell obscenities at the house and flip me off. These were young girls ranging from 7 to 14. The police suggested a mediator. This guy was an ass from day one and biased beyond any clue. He visited her first and by time he had came to talk to me he was accusing me of things I had never done all because she told him. Needless to say the mediator didnt work out and a few months after this mediator got internally investigated and accused of lying, selling his neighbors car without their consent, forgery and doing all of this while on the clock. Thanks to our lowlife mayor this idiot is still on the force. So you see just because someone wears a badge doesnt make them the good guy. No offense Metonicus. By the way great writings and thanks for taking the time to keep everyone informed.

ROFLMAO! Thanks, Shardz. I'm going to print up your comment and give it to Sgt. Trevino. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it.
