Description

Did you enjoy Grand Ballon? Great! There are more 'ballons' in the Vosges. Like this mountain, Ballon d'Alsace (1247 m, 4091 ft). Freezing temperatures on this mountain as well but we're a little bit more on the altitude of the clouds now. The branches are covered with thick layers of ice and they still grow when clouds wrap around these trees. brrrrrrr!! even this tree shivers!!!! i see it in the leaves! this tree looks like it needs more protection from elements. open. exposed. fallen/broken branch looks like my arm when not in sling. this tree...notice trunk is not one big piece but rather many. maybe it not tree? is it baush? i am this tree. i have nice hairs yes? totallt magnificent capture! looks like u take in verrrry bad conditions. blizzard? sky bluewhite? world lost/covered. vote! extraordinary!

These kind of "ice fossils" we only see once a year in March. This year I'll miss them. There is something magical about how quickly the dreary branches of winter convert into this fairy land. The crystalline sparkles put rhinestones every where.
