Description
The Canyon is long and protected by high walls.
A stream runs the length of the canyon.
The water is warm but fairly clean, the brush is scrub, but both are the just what the "Boy's" need.
The big roan with 4 white stockings is the leader. He has lost 3 mares in the last 2 weeks. One to a bad fall, one to thirst and one to a mountain lion.
He checked out the canyon. He had been here once before when he was a colt.
Long before that, man had been here.
As a colt he remembered playing around the strange rock place man had made.
Him and that pretty pinto had found some oats and wheat to eat, she was caught by man the next summer. Every so often he would think of her.
He remembered the faint smell of man in the smaller red stone rock place, with strange things made out of wood.
He saw the ducks take flight. They were funny things, but sometimes it would help if he could do what ducks do.
The Eagle flew over head. He liked the Eagle cause they always gave a warning screech when predators were near.
Yes man had not been here for a long time, it was a safe place to rest for a while.

Very evocative and imaginative words, Frank! The surface colours are very effecting; love the water too!

I would prefer more TG and less PW, but that is just my little ol' opinion. Nice storyline, though!

Frank, this image really grabs me ...you are on a roll! This is beautiful. Question: Is there a way you cold blur the horses a little and subdue their colors a bit; then, their presence in this composition would blend perfectly? As is, this is excellent work!
