I'm not sure what it is, but I like it! Very interesting work. I think it would be a bit more realistic if you didn't use a procedural texture that went all the way through the wood... if the inner pieces were different types of wood it might look better to me. But maybe it's supposed to be a single block of wood that's been carved? It intrigues me.

the design us newer...hand-made posible...some vertex are danger for people...and i dont know how to put the books inside.....excellent idea,,,cooler details

I disagree with 0m2g4... this is extremely artistic (which I favor over realism anyday). Actually, it really looks like an amazing wood sculpture. It could easily find a home in a museum.
