Description
Close to dusk, the shadows are long in the late afternoon.
Butte's and Mesa's close together show the patterns of the wind and blasting sand.
The terrain is twisted and tortured by the devil winds in this Desert.
Only the hardiest weeds and brush survive the winds and sand.
Water is almost non-existent.
The sky is bright blue, but on the horizon you can see natures plan, coming home to roost.
Already miles of desert have been shifted, reformed, raised and leveled.
The wind will spread the seeds of the plants and if nature completes the plan, rain will come to help them take hold and grow.
But not today or even tonight.
This is a big one coming, stretching for miles, high winds will push the sand so hard and fast it will turn car windows into opaque glass.
Rocks will move across the desert with the help of the winds.
Normal sand storms are terrifying, but this one is far more than normal.
Nothing that moves will survive this.
Once the wind stops all will be changed. Dunes, gullys, washs and rills will be gone from here, only to appear over there.
The Buttes and mesa's were formed from the winds because they were harder than the material covering them.
As the storms become more frequent and stronger, they to will disappear.
Maybe in a 1000 years this will be the start of a young forest.

Very interesting and unusual terrain! This has a certain strange darkness and is very much like how it looks in the desert when the sandstorms hit! Very well done Frank! I like it and your writing is excellent! :) V

Cool view, terrain and surface work...the clouds are the weak link but still....overall nicely done!!

Frank; this is beautiful. The haze/dust being stirred up by the wind has produced an excellent representation of a desert dust storm. You've done an excellent job here on all the elements!
