Description
I had a bad feeling about this port..
By the next day the tide had gone out, it never came back in.
We found out later on a large hole opened up in the sea bed north of Barbados, the water filled the hole.
As I was the pilot the capt blamed me.
He took the crew and headed off to get help to off load the ship and I was to stay with it tail he got back.
The days wore on. Soon the people who lived in the tents knew the water was not coming back, they left.
Well the ship had 15 casks of Rum, 10 casks of water, 9 casks of dried fish, 7 casks of dried beef, 5 casks of wheat and 7 casks of dried veggies.
I knew I'd be all right. I caught a few birds and rain water.
Well that was 30 years ago and I'm still waiting for the captain.
He won't need a large crew to off load now.
all thats left is 1 cask of rum, 1/2 cask of dried fish, 1/2 cask of dried beef, no wheat and no veggies but I do have 13 casks of water.

I think I'll take the rum & the dried beef, and I'll help you go away! :) Very nice contrasts in the scene! I didn't see your other works, but this one was a very enjoyable one for a sunday morning!
