Description

Dish Antenna Arrays: Mauna Kea is 13,796 ft above sea level. Its actual total height from the ocean floor is 32,000 ft high making it the tallest mountain on this planet. Here are eight 20 foot diameter dish antennas used to study wavelength of light coming from the coldest objects in the universe such as the radio source of waves surrounding the Black Hole of the Milky Way. VERY cool shot and interesting trivia. I'm an astronomy buff so can appreciate it. Hey, is that my b-day cake...I'll take vanilla. Of course at 32,000 ft tall it wil take me an eon or two to finish! ;) Gorgeous shot...brrrr! It does have a sci-fi look, kinda reminds me of the ice planet Hoth! hahah.

Incredible heights to put them here and to receive such good signals! Indeed, higher than Mt Everest! Love those structures in the snow on the background! Excellent work!
