Description

Again another rainy day! And that means to stroll around by car, this time deciding to visit Kilmartin, one of the most important historic places in Europe with evidence of settlements dating back to 6000BC. Here a view onto Kilmartin Church from the cemetery in the back. The church was built in 1834-5 to replace a church of 1798. The village sits at the heart of Kilmartin Glen, and there are at least 150 prehistoric sites and 200 other ancient monuments within six miles of it. These include burial cairns, rock carvings, and standing stones. Thanks a lot as always for your interest and all kind of comments! ;o)))

Excellent pov on this shot; makes you wonder whether the arrangement of tombstones reflects the social standing in life, with the good and the great looking down on us humbler souls.

I don't know how you did it but this is a very atmospherical image. I think maybe the rain caused this effect..

Nice, comfortable graveyard shot, Rita. I love the textures and colours. It looks well tended and , if you forgive the expression lokks as if it is 'lived in'. Regards, John.
