Cinema XL 7.1, BodyPaint, PS6, and SLA where used for this scene...The planet textures where created in PS6, the ship textures were created in Bodypaint and further tweaked in PS6 to deal with tiling and mapping errors. I recently got [digital] Texturing and Painting by Owen Demers(I highly recommend any [digital] book), and instead of using his provided models and textures, thought it would be more productive and fun to create my own models and scenes. SO here you have it. Since this is an academic project, any comments concerning texturing techniques I used, lighting, color schemes, shot balance, etc would be very very much appreciated. It the shot too busy? Too empty? Does the planet require more realistic lighting? Is the ship evident enough? Is the wear and tear on the ship clear enough? Can you tell I am trying to drive a strong red/blue color scheme home? And whatever else you can come up with. Thanks for you time.

Ya wanna some notes, O.K., here they come... The first thing I saw was the blured stars, for me they look a bit strange. The Planet looks like he
s very small and very near to the ship, try to make him bigger and put the planet more in the background, some atmosphere glow can be nice. The ship at all is cool designed but don
t bring me the feeling of speed. Textures are great! I hope with this notes I give you some good inspirations. Sorry for that poor english and thanX for the image! ~{o;)Diffusion
Stars are real funky..sewer grate at the rear doesn't look very good and too square..Blue light out in front doesn't appear to come from anything..Kinda has a cast iron block feel to the whole thing..And just now figured out I was looking at it backwards, grate front Blue light rear..
