Description

I painted this for 2D Forum February Theme with watercolours on canvas. Original size is about 37 x 46 cm (about 15 x 18,5 inches). If complemement colours are blended there should become grey. In print media they check the colour balance with grey. In PhotoShop you can also adjust colours effciently with grey. But also in real life: grey has all hues in it - all sorrows, all joys. You go to dark blue or violet sorrows, or to bright joyous moments; but there is also a moment when you feel balanced; it's bright and filled with all tones and hues - grey. Grey is beautiful! Thanks for Cassie (crrunchyfrog) for inspiration and advices with watercolours on canvas *hugs* And Thank you for viewing! All comments are most welcome :-)

an appropriate peice for this time of year for alot of people. Ok...for me. LOL. Trying not to totally withdraw, making myself have some happiness, but there is some sorrow too. I have a hard time with the idea of sharing that in my art. Thanks. ~lost

Your approach to this theme is so full of imagination & insight Titta! I love the way you have shown the relationship between the qualities of colour & the feeelings the express, a very striking image but full of subtlety too, grey is beautiful & most especially here! Great work ; )

Seeing this final image I like the transitions between the colours, but no wonderful tumbling red hair I almost feel sorry for her.

You really are on a go with this month's theme. Beautiful symbolism here and a great way to show it, wonderfully composed! I have never thought of grey in the termes of balance, thanks for feeding my mind :-)

Beautiful and knowlegeable use of colours, and I think you have her expression of self assurance and contentment spot on. This philosophical work got me thinking that maybe the colour of Buddhism should be grey (not orange) as it prescribes the non-attachment Middle Way between attachment to joy and suffering. Great work, titta.
