Description
I painted this with watercolours on canvas, sized 27 x 35 cm (about 11 x 14 inches). This is for 2D Forum's February theme: Exploring colours.
and yes, this is my dear friend Kirppu. so I had the model by my side all the time - he didn't want to pose me though but mainly was asleep :-)
Colour is born in light. When there is no light we call it black. A black dog in a dark room - can you even see it? Black (as white) has all the colours in it. What tones we see in black depends on lighting, and also it depends how we want to see it - it's quite often very subjective way to see black.

That is wonderful! What a beautiful dog, you got it real good. I know it is not easy to paint something black in black, it lives only from the highlights and you got it perfect. You are a wonderful artist!Excellent and a Vote for that.

So this is Kirppu, and a handsome chap he is too. So the authentic blank canvas is black, and when we shed the light of our imagination on it, it comes alive. And that is art. Nice one titta.
