Hi, my friend Pic Poc said I should try out mental ray/sss shader on my old wizard head, so here is a bit of playing around without any hair/eyelashes/brows etc. You can see the effect of MR/SSS particularly on the ear in the close up with the light coming through. Does anyone know why multisubs dont seem to work with MR/SSS (at least for me)?

That is one really nice piece of modelling. I wish I could model complex organic forms like that... what technique did you use? poly or nurbs?. nice render also.

I used spline/patch modelling, this was the first time I had used this method on a character. You can see the whole wizard character in my other pics.

it looks much nicer then the original one. would be good to add the shag you have created for this one.
